  • Contact Data includes email address and telephone numbers.

  • Sensitive Personal Data includes information about experiences of sexual abuse or harassment that you voluntarily share with us. This is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.

  • Usage Data includes information about how you use our website.

  • Communication Data includes your preferences in receiving communications from us.

We take extra precautions with sensitive personal data related to abuse experiences, including enhanced security measures and strict access controls.

  • Direct interactions. You may give us your Identity, Contact, and Sensitive Personal Data by filling in forms, submitting your story, or by corresponding with us by phone, email, or otherwise.

  • Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies.

  • Third parties. We may receive technical data from:

    • Analytics providers such as Google Analytics

    • Our website hosting platform Wix.com

  • To contact you about your submission within 48 hours as promised

  • To process and securely store the experiences you share

  • To compile anonymized patterns of institutional responses to sexual abuse (only with your explicit consent)

  • To manage our relationship with you

  • To enable you to participate in the documentation of historical abuse

  • To administer and protect our website

  • To deliver relevant website content to you

  • To inform you about the status of our initiative (if you opt in)

We have implemented appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, accessed, altered, or disclosed in an unauthorized way. All submissions are encrypted on arrival as stated on our website. Nothing will be published or shared without your written consent.

We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a legitimate need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

Given the historical documentation nature of our project, with your explicit consent, we may retain your submitted experiences for an extended period to contribute to the historical record. However, your contact details will be retained only as long as necessary for communication purposes.

9. Your Legal Rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data:

  • Request access to your personal data

  • Request correction of your personal data

  • Request erasure of your personal data

  • Object to processing of your personal data

  • Request restriction of processing your personal data

  • Support resources are available if sharing your experience causes distress
